Vigilantes in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State have arrested a man identified as Sulaiman Fulani over an allegation that he invited bandits into the community to carry out attacks.
Fulani was reportedly apprehended in Toronya community by vigilantes operating under the command of the Tsaure area commander, Sadiq Mu’azu.
Security expert, Bakatsine, disclosed the development in a post on X on Thursday.
According to him, local residents alleged that the suspect had been inviting bandits into the area to launch attacks.
The security expert said the allegation had raised concerns about the role of insiders in the security challenges confronting some communities.
He wrote, “Local sources said he was allegedly inviting bandits into the area to carry out attacks.”
The arrest comes amid continuing security concerns in parts of northern Nigeria, where communities have faced attacks and other threats from armed groups.

However, the allegation against Fulani has not been independently verified, and the circumstances surrounding his arrest were not immediately clear.
Authorities in Kano State had yet to publicly comment on the reported arrest as of the time of filing this report.
