The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Dr. Najeem Salaam, has pledged to rehabilitate the dilapidated Ife–Ifetedo–Ondo State Border Road if elected governor.
Salaam made the promise on Wednesday during a visit to the palace of the Olubosin of Ifetedo, where he met with traditional leaders and community stakeholders as part of his campaign engagements across the state.
The ADC candidate expressed concern over the poor condition of the road, describing it as a critical economic corridor that has been neglected despite its importance to residents, farmers, and traders in the area.
According to him, improving the road network would boost agricultural production, facilitate the movement of goods and services, and enhance economic activities within the border communities.
“On our way to Ifetedo, I observed that the road leading to this town is in a deplorable condition. By the grace of God, when we assume office, we will work with the Federal Government to ensure its rehabilitation,” Salaam said.
He noted that the road project would form part of his administration’s broader strategy to improve
