The Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Kolawole Babatunde, has urged party members to begin door-to-door campaigns for President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Babatunde gave the directive during a ward meeting with party members at his country home in Ifira Akoko, Akoko South-East Local Government Area, on Friday.
He called for sustained grassroots mobilisation, urging members to take the party’s message to households and rally support for Tinubu’s re-election, as well as APC candidates contesting Senate, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly seats.
The state chairman said the party’s chances of electoral success depended on regular engagement with voters and the commitment of members to strengthening its grassroots structures.
He also urged party leaders to intensify campaigns encouraging eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the elections, stressing the importance of active participation in the democratic process.
Babatunde said the party needed deliberate planning and effective mobilisation to achieve the one-million-vote target set by the Ondo State Governor and APC leader, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
According to him, the party must strengthen its structures at ward and polling-unit levels to ensure its message reaches every household across the state.
He further called on members to remain united and committed to the party’s objectives, saying collective efforts would be crucial to securing victory in the forthcoming elections.
Babatunde reaffirmed the state chapter’s commitment to mobilising support for Tinubu and other APC candidates, insisting that the drive towards the party’s one-million-vote target must begin at the grassroots.
Olawale Ijanusi, Special Assistant on New Media to the Ondo State APC Chairman, issued the statement on October 23, 2026.
