The pioneer General Manager of Positive FM radio station in Akure, Alhaji Kola Animasaun, has described the passing of Afenifere Leader, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, as the end of a glorious and an unforgettable era.
Fasoranti, aged 100, died peacefully at about 4.00 pm, at his Akure home on Tuesday.
Animasaun, who led the radio station for ten years between 2002 and 2012, recalled joyfully the role played by the elder statesman after the station was commissioned in 2002.
According to him, Fasoranti gave all necessary support with his name and status, which helped boost its image, and sped up its acceptance and popularity in Ondo and neighbouring states.
He said Fasoranti always contributed when contacted without hesitation to the station’s various programmes to make his passionate and unbiased suggestions that would lead to the progress and development of Nigeria.
Animasaun said Fasoranti left a legacy that could not be easily erased.
Animasaun described the deceased as an erudite educationist who built minds, a principled political leader who stood for justice, uncommon patriotism, federalism, and a statesman who devoted his life to the development of Nigeria.
