The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, will on Wednesday induct distinguished personalities into its prestigious Hall of Fame.
A statement by the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu, and Secretary, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin, said the ceremony would hold at the NUJ Press Centre, Iwo-Ibadan Road, Osogbo, beginning at 11 a.m.
Governor Ademola Adeleke will grace the event as the Special Guest of Honour.
Chairman of the League of Veteran Journalists in the state, Mr. Smollet Adetoyese Shittu-Alamu, will serve as the Chairman of the Occasion.
According to the statement, the Elende of Eko-Ende, Oba Abdulwaheed Babatunde Adekunle, who will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame, will attend as the Royal Father of the Day.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, is hosting the event as the Chief Host.
Among the eminent personalities to be honoured are the Chairman, Board of Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Mr. Niyi Owolade; Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), Mr. Hashim Abioye; and former Chief Press Secretary to the Osun State Governor, Mr. Ismail Omipidan.
Others include US-based entrepreneur, Chief Remi Oyeyemi, and renowned civil engineer, Engr. Saheed Soladoye.
The NUJ noted that the Hall of Fame induction is designed to celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to societal development and have supported the growth of journalism in Osun State.
