The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise for its third and final phase.
The Commission disclosed in a statement issued on Monday that the exercise will commence on May 11, 2026, and run until July 10, 2026.
The statement, signed by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, said the second phase of the CVR was suspended on April 17, 2026, to enable the Commission clean up the voter register after its publication for claims and objections.
INEC stated that the final phase offers another opportunity for eligible Nigerians who have attained the age of 18, as well as those who were unable to register during earlier phases, to do so.
The Commission also advised registered voters seeking transfer of registration, replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correction of biodata to visit its dedicated online portal or any INEC State and Local Government offices nationwide.
According to the Commission, the Register of Voters will be displayed for claims and objections from July 23 to July 29, 2026, in compliance with statutory provisions.
It noted that the process is aimed at ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and credibility of the voter register.
INEC assured Nigerians that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the smooth conduct of the exercise and urged all eligible citizens to take advantage of the opportunity.
