The Balogun of Ikare Land and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Chief Abdul Tunji Mohammed, has described the experience of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as an invaluable weather to enrich traditional and political leadership across the country.
Ona Ladoja, an ex-senator is also a former governor of Oyo State, who was impeached, but who fought courageously the Olusegun Obasanjo presidency and its Oyo State allies through the court process to regain his seat.
A statement by his Media Office said that Mohammed spoke on Saturday in Ibadan when he paid homage to the royal father in his palace.
He described the Olubadan as “a father, statesman, and custodian of Yoruba culture whose wisdom continues to guide political and traditional leadership in the Southwest.”
Besides, he reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and development within Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.
The visit aimed at paying royal homage, strengthening traditional ties, and fostering unity among Yoruba sons and daughters across party and state lines.
According to the statement: “In his response, Oba Rasheed Ladoja commended Chief ATM for the visit and for his consistent efforts in grassroots mobilization and party building in Ondo State.
“The monarch prayed for continued progress, wisdom, and success in his political and traditional responsibilities.
“The meeting was attended by chiefs of Ibadanland and associates of the Balogun of Ikare Land.
“The visit underscores the importance of collaboration between political leaders and traditional institutions in promoting stability, cultural values, and good governance.”
