My dear friends, come closer. No, not that close — I’m not a doctor trying to give you injection!

Let me start with some good news: Evil is not always the cause of your ill-health. Relax. Stop side-eyeing your village people every time you catch a cold. Sometimes the real enemy is not “them,” it’s the mountain of noodles and soft drinks you’ve been worshipping. Put your mind at rest. Fear no evil — just fear that expired tin of milk hiding in your cupboard.

What you consume will either build you or consume you. This applies to food, drink, music, gossip, and the nonsense you scroll on your phone at 2 a.m. Your body is not a dustbin. Stop feeding it like one.

And while we’re on the topic — what exactly do you think about most of the time? Because my brother, my sister… a man becomes as he thinks. If your mind is permanently tuned to “Nigeria is finished,” “my boss hates me,” and “this country will not allow me to shine,” then congratulations — your body has already started paving the way for you to be living in that mindset. Shift focus! Yes, acknowledge the negative, but camp mostly in the positive. Your health is listening.

Now, don’t be stingy with yourself. Spend generously on your health. Health is wealth — the original wealth. Forget all those “I can’t buy this organic thing” excuses. My friend, if you can buy new Ankara for the owanbe parties every weekend and data every day, you can also invest in vegetables and good water. Stop treating your body like a government project that can be abandoned halfway.

Drink water regularly! Don’t wait until your body forces you to drink it through a tube in the hospital bed while doctors are speaking in low voices around you. That version of hydration is not luxury, my people. Prevention is cheaper than cure.

Sleep well. Some of you are busy using your night as extra day — answering WhatsApp messages from people who don’t even like you. Sleep! Ill-health has a wicked way of depriving you of sleep permanently. Don’t give it the chance.

Eat more vegetables. Please, cultivate some at your backyard instead of growing only ornamental plants that are just decorating your hunger. What is that one? “See how my flowers are blooming” while your liver is screaming for help. Grow ugu, bitter leaves, spinach, scent leaf. Let your backyard feed you.

Live in nature small. Walk barefoot sometimes. Let the earth remind your soles who is boss. Wake up early and catch that gentle morning sun. Stay out in the late evening rays. That sunshine is free medicine — no fake prescription, no side effects, only benefits. The sun is the original plug.

And stop frowning like you’re personally carrying the national debt on your shoulders! Smile. Laugh more often. Laughter is free cardio for your heart. When last did you laugh till your belly shook? Your face is not a masquerade mask. Relax it!

Have a good social life. Mingle with people, but don’t lose yourself in the crowd like a needle on the beach.Choose your circle wisely. Surround yourself with those who add life, not those who subtract peace.

Longevity is not hiding inside any hospital. It is in your daily choices. The hospital is for repairs, not for manufacturing long life. You manufacture that one at home — with what you eat, what you think, how you rest, and how you laugh.

Dear friend, take good care of your health. It remains the best investment you will ever make on yourself. No amount of money, connections, or prayer without action can replace a broken body.

So laugh a little. Eat wisely. Think positively.
Drink water like your life depends on it, because it actually does. Sleep like a baby. Smile like someone who knows the secret to some hidden wealth.

Because at the end of the day, when you take care of your body, your body will take care of you — and you’ll still be around to enjoy the fruits of all your hustle.
Now, who’s starting with me today? This weekend let’s cut down on the beer, let’s drink more water instead… and maybe plant one vegetable this weekend.

Thank you. And remember — your health is laughing with you, and not at you, just as I’m smiling with you in the picture.

Stay blessed and stay healthy!
