Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has declared that the security outfit is fully prepared to confront insecurity across the state, following the resolution of internal challenges that previously affected its operations.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on sunday, Omoyele assured residents that the corps is now stable, fully operational, and firmly backed by the law establishing it.
“Osun Amotekun is fully reinstated by law, and we are ready to tackle insecurity. The misunderstandings we experienced have been resolved, and there is no hindrance to our operations,” he said.
The commander downplayed the earlier internal crisis within the corps, describing it as a minor disagreement that has since been amicably settled.
“Disagreements are part of human relationships. What we had was a misunderstanding, and it has been resolved. We are now fully focused on our mandate of protecting lives and property,” he added.
Omoyele noted that recent security concerns in neighbouring states, particularly incidents involving banditry, have heightened the corps’ level of alertness.
According to him, the development has prompted the outfit to strengthen its operational strategies and intensify surveillance to prevent any spillover of insecurity into Osun State.
He also called on residents to support security efforts by remaining vigilant and cooperating with security agencies.
“Security is a collective responsibility. We urge citizens to stay alert, report suspicious movements, and work with us to ensure the safety of our communities,” he said.
He reaffirming the agency commitment to curb all manners of crime and criminality happening in the state assuring residents to remain law-abiding at all times.
” We are dedicated to maintaining peace, law, and order across the state but this could be easily achieved with the cooperation of all and sundry.
