President Muhammadu Buhari has advised the people of Osun State to support Governor Ademola Adeleke in governing the state to ensure that the programmes, policies, plans and aspirations fashioned by the governor’s administration to make individuals and businesses flourish succeed.
In his reaction to Tuesday’s revalidation of the governor’s election, the President said the main task at hand now is to make the people of the state feel the impact of good governance, where a prosperous, peaceful and stable Osun is guaranteed.
The President in a statement by his Media Aide, Mr Femi Adesina, recognised the Supreme Court verdict on the July 16, 2022 governorship election in Osun as well the important role of the judiciary in deepening democracy and rule of law.
He said: “Elections should be seen as the path to an end, which is the progress of the people in a peaceful environment, rather than unending bickering.
“This is the time for inclusion and harmony in the state at the end of the litigation,” he said.
Buhari thanked the people of Osun for their immense contribution to the development of the nation, particularly through the state’s rich cultural heritage, the several historic sites and tourist attractions, including Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
He assured that the Federal Government would continue to develop the boundless resources in the state to enhance national development and prosperity.
