Soludo grants scholarship to student who scored 344 in UTME after dancing performance

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has awarded a comprehensive scholarship to Chiazo Umeaniba, a student of Maria Regina Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nnewi, after she scored 344 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

Soludo announced the award during the first anniversary celebration of Solution Fun City in Awka on Sunday.

The governor made the announcement after Umeaniba, the school’s senior prefect, performed as one of the dancers entertaining guests at the event. He was subsequently informed of her UTME score.

Declaring the scholarship, Soludo said it would cover her education from undergraduate to PhD level.

“Your education from undergraduate to PhD is on me. Yes, the bill is on me. I was also a senior prefect like you, I made the best result.

“You know why I’m touched: I was a senior prefect like her, I went into the university and made a first class honours and won all the departmental and faculty prizes.

“I am also wishing that she, as a senior prefect and making 344 in UTME, is going in there, I can see her coming out with first class honours, but the bill I will pay. Even after my tenure as a governor, I will continue to pay the bills.”

Soludo also said Solution Fun City, commissioned by President Bola Tinubu in May 2025 and opened to the public on June 28, 2025, has become a multi-generational recreational hub designed to serve residents across social classes.

He added that the facility is part of his administration’s efforts to transform Anambra into a destination for tourism and investment, noting that more infrastructure projects are underway.

The governor said the project’s success had attracted increased investor interest in large-scale developments, including residential estates and industrial cities, adding that his administration would continue expanding the facility to sustain its appeal.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Solution Fun City, Chiamaka Nnake, described the facility as a testament to the governor’s vision and commitment to delivering development dividends.

She said the centre recorded an average of 10,000 visitors daily between late December and mid-January, with visitors coming from within and outside Anambra State.

An elated Umeaniba thanked the governor for the scholarship, while the anniversary celebration featured cultural performances and other recreational activities.
