Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has presented a governorship ticket comprising Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and sustainability professional Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, describing the pair as capable leaders equipped to sustain Lagos State’s development agenda.

He made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, describing the ticket as a reflection of the strength, diversity, and future aspirations of Lagos State.

“Today, I present a ticket that reflects the strength, diversity, and future of our great state”, he stated.

The governor said the true measure of sustainable governance lies in the ability to transfer leadership to capable and tested individuals who possess the vision to advance development and maintain continuity in governance.

According to him, Hamzat has distinguished himself as a committed public servant, dependable partner in governance, and a strong advocate for the progress of Lagos State throughout his tenure as deputy governor.

Sanwo-Olu noted that Hamzat’s experience in public administration and policy implementation positions him to build on the achievements of the current administration and drive further development across the state.

The governor also highlighted the credentials of Sonayon-James, describing her as a respected leader, sustainability professional, and grassroots advocate with a proven commitment to community development and youth empowerment.

He said her inclusion on the ticket reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive leadership and broad-based representation, adding that her experience and engagement with local communities would strengthen the team’s ability to address the needs of Lagos residents.

Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that the Hamzat-Sonayon-James ticket possesses the competence, experience, and energy required to sustain the state’s development trajectory and deliver on the aspirations of Lagosians.

As preparations intensify for the gubernatorial election, the governor called on party members, stakeholders, and residents of the state to rally behind the candidates and support their vision for a greater Lagos.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and preserving the gains recorded in infrastructure, economic growth, education, healthcare, and social development across the state.
