The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will inaugurate its Ondo State Presidential Campaign Council in Akure the State Capital on Thursday, October 27.
To be led by the immediate past Governor of the State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, the 441-member council will be chaired by Ambassador Roland Omowa, while the party’s Governorship Candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, will be the Vice Chairman.
The party’s State Secretary, Barrister Oluseye Olujimi, will serve as the Council’s Secretary.
A statement by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, said: “The Ondo State Presidential Campaign Council has been constituted by the State Working Committee in conjunction with leaders and stakeholders of the party in the State.
“The Presidential Campaign Council is to be inaugurated on Thursday, 27th October 2022 at the Ondo State PDP Secretariat, Alagbaka, Akure at 11.00am.
“The party wishes to express its satisfaction and confidence in the calibre of members of the Ondo State Presidential Campaign Council and their ability to deliver Ondo State for Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa and all other candidates of the PDP in next year’s general elections.
“To rescue, redirect and rebuild Nigeria is a task that must be done.”
Apart from the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon Debo Ologunagba; State Chairman, Hon Fatai Adams; and the party’s ex-National Vice Chairman, South West, who is the Director, Dr Eddy Olafeso; the council has 11 deputy directors; three BoT members including Senator Bode Olajumoke; Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru, former Deputy Governor; and Afenifere Chieftain and ex-serial Commissioner Chief Segun Adegoke; and Chairman of the party’s Elders Committee and a former party chairman, Dr Omotayo Dairo, among others.
