Decry ‘kangaroo’ court judgement

Land owners at Powerline Area, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, have begged Governor Ademola Adeleke to intervene over what they described as an attempt to forcefully acquire their lands through an alleged kangaroo court judgement obtained by one Misturah Busari.

They trooped out in their large number to express their grievances against the court judgement procured from a state High Court in Osogbo.

They said they all have documents indicating ownership of the lands and that the said lands measured 184.707, stretching from Powerline to Dagbolu area of the state capital.

Demolition of properties in the area by the claimant who reportedly mobilised security agencies to the land to enforce the judgement, has started, it was learned.

Baale of Ifesowapo Community Powerline, High Chief Lasisi Aderemi, who spoke with reporters, bemoaned the court judgement, which he called ‘kangaroo’.

Aderemi noted that such judgement cannot stand while calling on the state government to intervene.

He said, “I don’t understand how some one will wake up and go to court to obtain a judgement laying claim to such hectares of land. To our surprise, they have started demolishing people’s property without notice.

“We appeal to Osun State Hovernment for their urgent intervention before this crisis degenerates into anarchy just as we say ‘No’ to kangaroo judgement”.
