Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised fresh concerns over reported killings in Osogbo and other parts of the state, urging Governor Ademola Adeleke and security agencies to intensify measures aimed at protecting lives and property.

It said the reported recurrence of violent incidents had heightened fears among residents and underscored the need for stronger security measures across the state.

The party made the call in a statement issued on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and signed by its Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi.

It said it had expected the conclusion of the August 15 governorship election to be followed by a reduction in reported cases of violence, but expressed concern that incidents were still being reported in parts of the state.

It said the development was capable of creating fear among residents and affecting the perception of Osun among visitors and people from other parts of the country.

The APC particularly cited the reported killing of two persons in the Owo-Eba area, near Ilesa Garage, Osogbo, on Friday, October 2.

According to the party, the victims were identified as Small Rugged and Seyi Osha.

The APC alleged that the two victims were attacked by unidentified hoodlums who reportedly used firearms, machetes, knives and cudgels.

It also identified Mascot, described as a personal assistant to Small Rugged, Spirit and Agba Kali, a passer-by, as among those reportedly injured in the attack.

Expressing concern over the reported incident, the APC said the situation required urgent attention from the state government and security agencies.

It urged Governor Adeleke to intensify efforts to address security challenges and prevent further loss of lives, stressing that the protection of citizens and property remained a fundamental responsibility of government.

The party also called on the police and other security agencies to strengthen crime prevention operations, improve intelligence gathering and ensure that those responsible for violent attacks were identified and brought to justice.

The APC said there should be no justification for the unlawful killing of citizens, while stressing that allegations of criminal conduct must be investigated and handled through established legal and judicial processes.

The party further urged the government and security agencies to sustain their efforts to safeguard residents and restore public confidence in the security architecture of the state.

It warned that continued reports of violent incidents could have wider consequences for public confidence and the image of Osun State.

However, the casualty figures, identities of the victims and other details contained in the APC statement had not been independently verified at the time of filing this report.
