The newly inaugurated Osun State chapter of the City Boy Movement has pledged its commitment to mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of future electoral engagements.

Speaking at the inauguration of the movement in Osun State, the state patron, who welcomed the representative of the National Patron, Barrister Seyi Tinubu, the Director-General of the movement, Shoga Oluwatosin, and members of the national leadership, said the Osun chapter was prepared to strengthen its presence across the state’s 30 local government areas.

The patron described the inauguration as an important step towards building a strong grassroots structure for the movement in the state, stressing that members must remain organised and committed to their political objectives.

He said the City Boy Movement in Osun was “standing tall and standing firm” in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that members were motivated and encouraged by what he described as the administration’s interventions in the state.

According to him, Osun State has benefited from the Tinubu administration, particularly through federal infrastructure projects.

He specifically mentioned the Iwo-Ibadan Road, Ibadan-Ife Road and Gbongan-Osogbo Road among projects he said had received attention from the Federal Government.

He argued that improved road infrastructure would enhance connectivity between communities, facilitate the movement of people and goods, stimulate economic activities and create opportunities for residents of the state.

The patron also highlighted what he described as increased recognition of Osun indigenes through appointments into federal institutions under the Tinubu administration.

He cited the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), alongside other Osun indigenes appointed to positions of responsibility in federal agencies, including the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

He said the appointments demonstrated the opportunities available to Osun indigenes at the national level.
The patron therefore called on members of the City Boy Movement to take the group’s message to the grassroots and strengthen its structures across communities.

He urged members to begin mobilisation from polling units to wards, local government areas and ultimately across the state.
“This is not merely a political gathering; it is a call to responsibility,” he said, urging members to remain organised and committed to their political activities.

He added that the movement must work collectively to translate its support for President Tinubu into electoral support at the appropriate time.

The inauguration brought together members and supporters of the City Boy Movement as the Osun chapter formally joined the organisation’s wider structure.

The patron expressed appreciation to the national leadership for attending the inauguration and assured the gathering of the commitment of the Osun chapter to the movement’s activities.

He concluded by wishing the City Boy Movement success, while praying for the progress of Osun State and Nigeria.
