The state executive council of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State has affirmed Hon Tajudeen Lawal, as the substantive chairman of the party in the state.
The resolution was taken at a special session of the State Executive Committee meeting of the party which also had in attendance local party chairmen of the party across the state and members of the State Working Committee at the secretariat of the party at Ogo Oluwa area of the state.
Rising from the special session, the Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Wole Adunola, disclosed that Lawal has led the party excellently well since he assumed office, hence the justification of the resolution to confirm him as substantive chairman of the party.
Lawal has ensured that the party’s structures are intact across all the local governments, wards and units in the state, he added.
He said that the chairman has brought to the table his sound party administration of many decades and grassroots mobilisation skill which has begun to galvanize the party’s strength in the state.
It would be recalled that since the official announcement and installation of the former chairman of the party as Owa of Igbajo, Oba Gboyega Famodun, the position of the state helmsman of the party has been vacant while SookoTajudeen has been in acting capacity before Tuesday’s resolution.
The meeting strongly recognised the leadership direction of Chief Bisi Akande and the immediate past governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and the Elders council of the Party in the state.
The party also showered encomiums on Alhaji Oyetola for the bags of rice made available to party faithful in all the wards in the state for the celebration of this year’s Sallah.
Tajudeen Lawl has been in acting capacity as the chairman after the former chairman, then Prince Famodun was selected as the traditional ruler of Igbajo.
