- urges IGP to Call MC Oluomo to Order

Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has alleged a plot by the factional National Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to instigate violence in motor parks across the state.
The party alleged that the purported plan was aimed at taking over motor parks and could lead to a breakdown of law and order if not checked.
In a statement signed by its State Chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, on Sunday, the party claimed that reports from various motor parks indicated preparations for what it described as a violent takeover.
Accord specifically alleged that MC Oluomo was behind the purported activities, allegedly acting through his associate, Asiri Eniba, and some “disgruntled elements” within the Osun APC.
The party further alleged that Oluomo had issued a new certificate of leadership to Eniba while the tenure of the existing executive was still running, describing the development as illegal.
It claimed that Eniba was now being encouraged to embark on activities that could trigger fresh clashes in the state’s motor parks and frustrate the government’s plan to establish a park management system.
Accord recalled the recent killing of NURTW member Lekan Ajagungbade in Ile-Ife, saying the incident underscored the danger posed by factional rivalry within the transport union.
The party expressed support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s directive suspending NURTW activities across the state’s motor parks and the planned introduction of a state-controlled park management system.
According to Accord, the government’s measures were necessary to prevent a recurrence of factional violence and restore order in the motor parks.
“The threat of factional warfare is still very much on the ground, hence the strong support of all and sundry for the creation of a park management system which the state governor will announce in due course,” the statement said.
The party urged the Presidency and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to intervene and “call MC Oluomo to order,” warning that he should be held accountable for any alleged breakdown of law and order arising from the dispute.
Accord also commended the Osun State Commissioner of Police for what it described as his intervention to maintain peace in the state.
It called on the police and other security agencies to enforce the governor’s directive that all NURTW factions vacate the motor parks.
The party further urged security agencies to secure the parks against possible attempts by rival factions to take control of them.
