Former Deputy Governor of Osun State and immediate past National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has reaffirmed his commitment to run an inclusive and development-driven government if elected Governor in 2026.
He made this known during his consultation tour of local government areas in Ijesa North Federal Constituency, ahead of the APC governorship primaries scheduled for December this year.
The governorship aspirant emphasized the need for a fair and transparent reward system within the party, assuring leaders and members across wards that loyalty and dedication would be duly recognized under his administration.
At Obokun Local Government, Omisore pledged to prioritize good governance and accelerate development in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare. He also promised to enhance digital connectivity in rural communities to drive economic growth and bridge development gaps.
Addressing a large crowd at Ijebujesa, headquarters of Oriade Local Government, Omisore said his ambition was driven by the desire to build a fair and prosperous Osun State — one free from what he described as “nepotistic tendencies” that have left some areas of the state marginalized.
Speaking to journalists after the visit, a former cabinet adviser to ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Professor Siji Olamiju, described Omisore as “a courageous, humane, and well-connected leader” with strong influence across key sectors of the national economy.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Government, Hon. Bunmi Obaesun, lauded Omisore for his consistent leadership and commitment to grassroots development, describing him as “a source of inspiration” to party members and supporters.
Omisore’s consultation tour is expected to continue tomorrow in Ede South and Ede North, within the Ede–Ejigbo–Egbedore Federal Constituency, as part of efforts to consolidate grassroots support ahead of the party primaries.
