The Parents Teachers Association, PTA, in Ondo State has called on parents to ensure that their children and wards are well taken care of by obeying government laid down rules in the stay at home directive in support of the fight against the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.

Its chairman in the state, Chief Abimbola Omoloja gave the charge in a telephone interview, yesterday.

He called on parents to keep their children and wards  indoor and also ensure they study hard at home and  abide by the rules of keeping social distance, washing of hands regularly or by using hand sanitizer, covering their noses and many more.

He asked parents to meaningfully engage their children during the compulsory stay at home order, saying they should be guided to revise what they have studied while in school so as not to forget what they have learnt.

According to him: “They should be studious, and be well prepared  because the scourge can subside and they can be called to resume at any time, hence the need to read ahead, so as to make it easy when they are about to write their exams.

” You know they will have to write their exams immediately they resume, they must be well prepared by studying, ” he said.

Omoloja also berated some report from some quarters that some people were organizing lesson for some students, saying it is a disregard to government’s order and also breaching the law of social distance.

He said parents should not endanger the lives of their children and wards by doing so, advising them to  encourage their children and wards to study at home.
