  • Oba Aladetoyinbo says ‘We’ve lost one of our finest’

Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa has paid a condolence visit to the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun and the Akure speaking communities over the passage of the Secretary to the Government of the State, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi popularly known as Tuykana.

Oluwatuyi died last Saturday in an hospital where he was receiving treatment over an accident he had on December 15 last year.

The Governor led members of the State Executive Council on the visit to meet with Traditional Rulers from the Akure speaking communities of Akure North, Akure South and Ifedore Local Government Areas, members of the Deji-in-Council, the Olus from Akure North and South as well as political leaders from Akure. at the Deji’s Palace.

Ayedatiwa described Oluwatuyi as a trusted and dependable ally who was dedicated to service of the State and humanity.

He said the deceased was a rare breed gentle politician and a grassroots mobilizer whose contributions to the development and politics of the State remains indelible. He described the death of Oluwatuyi as a very painful.

The Governor prayed God to grant the Akure Community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In his response, Oba Aladetoyinbo thanked the Governor and members of the State Executive Council for sharing the pains and grief of the Akure people at this trying time.

He described Oluwatuyi as an illustrious son of Akure Kingdom who had unwavering passion and love for her people.

The royal father said the death of Oluwatuyi was one too many and he remained one of the finest in Akure Kingdom. “There is no doubt, we lost a big fish in Tuykana.”. he said.

Oba Aladetoyinbo assured that Akure Community will intensify prayers and not give up despite the challenges and grief.

Oluwatuyi hailed from the Ulisa community in Akure.

He served in various capacities as a former Chairman, Akure South Local Government, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and two time Secretary to Ondo State Government.
