Ondo State House of Assembly has screened eight out of fourteen Commissioner-nominees whose names were forwarded to the House last week by the State Government.
Others will be screened today, Wednesday December 1, 2021 by 1:00pm.
They were screened by the Selection Committee headed by the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun at the Assembly complex.
The screened nominees commended the legislature for performing its duty, believing that the exercise will bring out the best and ensure that things are done in line with constitutional provisions.
Speaking shortly after the process, one of the Commissioner-nominees, Mr. Femi Agagu who was a former Commissioner in the first term of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu administration expressed satisfaction with the screening, promising to continue to contribute his quota to the development of the state.
Also, Dr. Banji Awolowo-Ajaka described the exercise as transparent, thorough and interactive, promising to work in line with the global best practices to achieve the set goal.
On his part, Mr Rasak Obe said he was excited about working with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu because he is a visionary leader and equally assured of his readiness to bring to bear his wealth of experience if cleared.
Also, Mrs Adebunmi Osadahun who commended the Governor and his wife for honouring women, promised to give her best if cleared.
She affirmed that women in the State under Akeredolu -led administration are not marginalised as they now have a place in governance.
Others promised to work towards achieving the governor’s vision of a better Ondo state.
