Kidnapped Ekiti APC chairman freed

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso, who was kidnapped by gunmen along the Imesi Ekiti –Agbado Ekiti Road last Saturday has regained freedom.

A reliable source at the APC Chairman’s Imesi-Ekiti hometown said Omotoso was freed on Wednesday night and has been reunited with his family.

The source said: “You know Bar. Omotoso was kidnapped by some assailants last Saturday along Imesi-Ekiti-Agbado-Ekiti while returning from Ado-Ekiti but he has been left off the hook. We thank God is back home hale and hearty just now. We are happy”.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, ASP Sunday Abutu who confirmed Omotoso’s release, said that three suspects had been arrested in connection with his abduction.

He said: “The APC Chairman of the State, Mr Paul Omotoso, alongside two others that were recently abducted by unknown hoodlums have regained their freedom and have been reunited with their families.

“Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and are supplying useful information that could lead to the arrest of the prime suspects who are currently at large.

“This breakthrough was made possible through the combined efforts of the police, other sisters agencies, local security outfits, and family members as well as the Ekiti State Government”.
