- ICOMSTECH Registrar Highlights College’s Role as Catalyst for Idanre Development
Idanre indigenes have rallied their kinsmen for unity, increased investment in education, youth development and preservation of the community’s heritage.
They made the call at the Idanre Unity Conference, held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Ajifowowe Hotel and Suites, Ojota, in Idanre.
The conference brought together indigenes, community leaders, youths and other stakeholders with a common objective of strengthening unity and promoting the cultural, educational and socio-economic development of Idanre.
In his presentation at the conference, the Registrar of Idanre College of Management, Science and Technology (ICOMSTECH), Dr. Ayodele Olushina Emmanuel, spoke on the theme, ICOMSTECH as a Catalyst for Idanre Development.
He explained that ICOMSTECH was established with a strong community-development vision and emphasized that the institution is an initiative rooted in Idanre and intended to contribute to the educational and human-capital development of the community.
According to him, the establishment of a higher institution in Idanre provides an opportunity for young people to access education and skills development without necessarily having to leave the community.
The Registrar also highlighted the College’s partnership programme with Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Lagos, describing the collaboration as an important opportunity for expanding access to higher and technical education.
He called on parents, community leaders and particularly the youths of Idanre to take advantage of available educational and skills-development opportunities at ICOMSTECH.
High Chief Osoore Akinde Commends ICOMSTECH
The Convener of the conference, **High Chief Osoore Akinde**, commended the management of ICOMSTECH for its efforts in promoting the name and development of Idanre.
He encouraged the management to continue its contribution to the community and urged young people to embrace education, skills acquisition and other opportunities that can improve their future.
Among those represented were High Chief Barrister Adetunji, the Odunwo of Idanre; Yeye Lobun; the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW); Okada Riders Association; Prince Anike Aroloye; the Proprietor of Mandate Group of Schools; representatives of the National Orientation Agency; Idanre Development Foundation; students and representatives of the Leisure and Tourism Department; the National Association of Idanre Students;** and other community stakeholders.
He noted that the development of Idanre requires the collective efforts of its sons and daughters, regardless of their location or professional background.
**A Platform for Unity and Development**
The Idanre Unity Conference provided an opportunity for participants to discuss issues relating to community development, youth empowerment, education, cultural preservation and the promotion of Idanre’s heritage.
Participants emphasized the importance of cooperation among indigenes and stakeholders in building a stronger future for the community.
The event also reinforced the growing recognition of education and human-capital development as important components of sustainable community development.
The organizers expressed the hope that the conference would serve as a continuing platform for dialogue, collaboration and collective action among the sons and daughters of Idanre.

The management of ICOMSTECH reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the educational and human-capital development of Idanre while promoting the community’s identity, heritage and development potential.
