A former Vice Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ondo State, Hon Chief Eric Oluwole has formally joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Oluwole, a leading House of Representatives aspirant for Ondo West and East Federal Constituency, and his entourage, were officially received on Friday at the PDP local government secretariat.

Also, he is the Director General of a former Presidential Aspirant on the PDP platform, Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze.

Oluwole was received by the PDP Deputy State Chairman, Hon Akinwande, who expressed delight at having within the PDP’s fold the calibre of Oluwole, a notable Afenifere chieftain, and indeed one who has been a long-term state executive member of the pan Yoruba sociopolitical organisation.

A statement on Saturday by the Hon (Dr.) Eric Oluwole for House of Representatives Media Team quoted Oluwole as saying that he chose to join the PDP in view of its democratic credentials, and the bright hope that the party holds for Nigeria’s future.

Together with the PDP Deputy State Chairman were Hon Achebe, PDP Senatorial chairman; Hon. Ojikutu, Ondo West Local Government  Chairman; Hon Janta Ondo West Local Government Deputy chairman; Mr Ikuyinminu Adeolu; and Hon Olembe, Ondo Ward 7 Chairman); amon other leaders of the party.

Oluwole was accompanied by his political associates and allies across the wards

He said he came to the party to join hands in building it to Nigeria’s strongest political party.

He commended the party’s leaders, especially the National Leader, Barrister Nyesom Wike for his enormous sacrifices and commitment to repositioning the party.

In Oluwole’s words, “‘I am here to join hands with our commendable leaders and members in building the PDP to Nigeria’s most formidable party and best choice for the electorate in any election.

“I commend the party leaders at the national, state, local government and ward levels.

“Most especially, I commend our National Leader, His Excellency Barrister Nyesom Wike for his enormous sacrifices, and rare commitment to building the PDP to a solid party and indeed Nigeria’s best political party that will be the first choice for voters during elections.”

He noted that regardless of the temporary challenges being faced by the party, as any other political party or human organisation, the PDP will reorganize itself, and bounce back strongly as Nigeria”s foremost political party to reckon with.

In his words: “After wide consultations with my political leaders, teeming allies and supporters, and indeed my entire political structure, I, Hon (Dr.) Eric Oluwole decided to pitch my tent with the PDP as a credible platform on which to stand to render our unquantifiable, and selfless service to the generality of our people who have been yearning for genuine leaders.

“In this wise, I am moving my entire political structure to the PDP which I strongly believe will give a very wide democratic space for all politicians who truly long to offer themselves for genuine service to our people.”

Oluwole added that he and his allies and supporters decided to move enbloc from the ADC to the PDP after wide consultations, which showed the PDP as the best political platform that will provide the enabling foundation and environment to actualise his political dreams and those of his numerous supporters.

He had resigned from the ADC citing what he called irreconcilable differences over the lingering leadership crisis rocking that party as the major reason for his resignation.

Until his resignation from that party, Oluwole, from Ward 7, Ondo West, in Ondo City, was the ADC State Vice Chairman in charge of Ondo Central Senatorial District of Ondo State.
