The Management, staff, and students of Elizade University, Ilara Mokin in Ondo State have expressed shock and profound sadness over the passing of Prof Tosan Erhabor, “the esteemed Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).”
A statement by the university’s spokesman, Mr. Williams Olufunmi, quoted the Registrar, Chief Omololu Adegbenro, describing Erhabor as a towering figure in the field of Medical Laboratory Science, and also a great ally and friend of Elizade University.
He reportedly said, “His recent visit to our campus in February 2025, during which he inducted the pioneer set of Medical Laboratory Science graduates of the University, remains a significant and cherished moment in our institutional history.”
Adegbenro noted that “his passion for excellence, professionalism, and his unwavering commitment to the advancement of the profession were clearly evident during that visit, noting that his passing is not only a colossal loss to the MLSCN and the Medical Laboratory Science community in Nigeria but also to the health sector within and outside Nigeria.”
He said, “We have indeed lost a colossus, a mentor to many, and a partner in the pursuit of quality healthcare education.
“On behalf of the Founder, Governing Council, Management, staff, and students of Elizade University, we extend our deepest condolences to the Council, the bereaved family, and the entire Medical Laboratory Science community, while also praying for the repose of his soul.”
