The Asalu of Modakeke and apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the community, Chief Wahab Bolarinwa Adetunji, has distributed cash and food palliatives to more than 3,000 party members as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots base ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
The distribution exercise, held on Saturday in Modakeke, attracted party leaders, elders, women, youths, ward executives and supporters from across the community.
Speaking during the event, Adetunji said the intervention was aimed at supporting party members and reinforcing unity within the APC as preparations intensify for the governorship poll.
He urged members to remain committed to the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and to intensify grassroots mobilisation across wards and polling units to secure victory at the election.
According to him, the forthcoming election presents an opportunity to return what he described as purposeful leadership and sustainable development to Osun State.
Many beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and a demonstration of the APC leader’s commitment to the welfare of party members.
Some party stakeholders also commended Adetunji for what they described as his consistent support for the party’s grassroots structure through welfare initiatives.
Political observers at the event said the turnout reflected the APC leader’s influence in Modakeke and could provide momentum for the party’s campaign ahead of the governorship election.

Wale Amusan; the Osun APC Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi; former Supervisory Councillor for Education, Ife-East Area Council, Chief Olasupo Daud Aderemi; former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Hon.
