The Omoluabi Progressives, a prominent political movement in Osun State, has resolved to present a united front ahead of the 2026 governorship election and to mobilize members for the forthcoming registration and revalidation exercise.
At its November 2025 general meeting, held on Sunday, November 2, in Ilesa, the group witnessed a large turnout of stakeholders from all 332 electoral wards across the state.
The meeting also featured the formal reception of new members from various political parties, including the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Some former members of the defunct The Osun Progressives (TOP) also officially returned to the fold, reaffirming their commitment to the Omoluabi ideology.
The Membership Mobilisation, Revalidation, and Registration Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Hon. Kamil Akinlabi Mudashir, was also in attendance. The committee, which earlier paid a courtesy visit to the ADC National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, urged members to participate actively in the registration exercise to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the next elections.
In his remarks, Ogbeni Aregbesola commended members for their steadfastness and dedication to the Omoluabi movement. He revealed that the apex body of the group had resolved to present a single, formidable aspirant from the Osun West Senatorial District for the upcoming December 12 ADC primaries, stressing the importance of unity and strategic coordination.
The Chairman of Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Issa Adesiji Azeez, thanked members for their loyalty and active participation. He urged them to take part fully in the forthcoming party congresses and federal constituency tours as part of efforts to ensure victory in the 2026 governorship election.
Other members of the Membership Revalidation, Registration, and Mobilisation Committee include Barr. Gbenga Akano (Secretary), Mojeet Adeyemi, Abideen Okandeji, Ayoola Ige, Femi Adedokun, Hon. Sikiru Ayedun, Gbove Laveola, Aina Ogundare, Sola Adeoye, and Hon. Abdulhakeem Olaoye.
