The Ose Local Government Area, LGA, aspirant to the Ondo State House Of Assembly, Mr Dimeji Obiniran, has been, successfully screened by the All Progressives Congress Screening Committee at the party’s state secretariat in Akure.
After the screening on Wednesday, 18th May, 2022, Obiniran commended members of the Committee for doing a good job for the party.
He noted that in his years of all-weather experience in party politics and as someone who has been involved in election matters at different times, he is yet to encounter a group of committed officials like the said Screening Committee which worked tirelessly, throughout the night to ensure that the internal democracy mechanism of the party is upheld by giving equal opportunities to all aspirants.
He expressed his confidence at wining the party primary ticket to contest the Ose LGA House of Assembly election.
Obiniran promised to justify the trust and confidence reposed in him by his constituents by ensuring that they enjoy richly the dividends of democracy.
His words: “If I am elected, I will give my LGA effective representation at the House of Assembly thereby justifying the confidence reposed in me by the electorate at the poll.
“I am of the opinion that I am more qualified to represent the LGA because I have been living with my people over a long period of time. I identify with their aspirations and struggles.
“I am not a random politician who only shows up at every election cycle to contest for any elective position available and zoned to Ose LG.”
While thanking the Chairman of APC in the state, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, “for committing himself to upholding the tenets of democratic values in ensuring free and fair contest for all party members,” he enjoined him and his team to continue to strategise and work for the altruistic interest of the party after the primary as done before and during it.
Obiniran, who was the former ODIEC Electoral officer for Ose local government and also the Chairman of the Electoral Officers in Ondo State, enjoined his co-aspirants to ensure a violence-free and credible primary by not putting the party in a state of disrepute as the opposition allegedly wishes for the party during this exercise.
He believes that the most reputable, credible and popular candidate stands a better chance of representing APC in Ose LGA as the party’s flag bearer, which will, surely, guarantee success for the party in the coming general election, which he is sure of winning.
