Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness to run an issue-based campaign aimed at unseating Governor Ademola Adeleke in the forthcoming August 15, 2026 governorship election.
In a statement issued by the party’s Governorship Campaign Council, the APC disclosed that it will soon release the comprehensive list of members of its campaign council and various committees.
According to the statement, the composition of the campaign structure reflects a deliberate effort to assemble an inclusive, effective, and results-driven team.
The party noted that members of the council and committees were carefully selected from a broad spectrum of society, including seasoned and emerging politicians, professionals, community and religious leaders, as well as representatives of civil society groups and youth organisations.
“This diverse blend underscores the APC’s commitment to broad-based participation and excellence,” the statement said.
The party further emphasized that its campaign would be anchored on issues, aligning with the vision and policy direction of its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
It assured that the campaign team would maintain consistency in communicating the party’s blueprint, describing it as practical, realistic, and responsive to the socio-economic realities of Osun State.
Expressing confidence in its policy direction, the APC stated that its programmes are well-positioned to address the economic and political challenges facing the state, which it claimed have persisted despite the resources available to the current administration.
The party criticized the Adeleke-led government, arguing that the level of infrastructure and development across the state does not reflect the volume of funds at its disposal.
“It is our considered position that the present government has fallen short of expectations. The gap between available resources and visible development remains a matter of concern,” the statement added.
The APC maintained that it would use the campaign period to present itself as the most credible platform for sustainable development, stressing that good governance is rooted in competence, integrity, and experience.
The statement further argued that if governance were solely dependent on financial resources, Osun State would have recorded far greater levels of development.
Describing its mission as clear and resolute, the campaign council said it would engage voters with facts, a compelling vision, and a practical roadmap for transforming the state.
On behalf of the Director-General of the campaign council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, the party assured residents that it is prepared to form a government that will uphold high leadership standards and deliver meaningful progress.
The statement was signed by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, and dated April 25, 2026.
