Son of Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti; a former Deputy Governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi; former speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, Rt Hon Jumoke Akindelw; and former Secretary to the State Government Mr Isaac Kekemeke, were among the 16 senatorial aspirants screened, and cleared to contest the primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State.
The primary election is scheduled for Monday, 18th May, 2026.
It was gathered that all the aspirants from the state’s three senatorial districts were successfully screened and cleared by the party’s screening committee.
Following are the screened and cleared aspirants district by district:
Ondo North Senatorial District:
1. Alexander Oluremi Ayipe;
2. Senator Olajide Emmanuel Ipinsagba;
3. Hon. Adejoro Adeogun;
4. Michael Abayomi Adeyanju; and
5. Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye.
Ondo Central Senatorial District:
1. Senator Adeniyi A. Adegbonmire;
2. Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, and
3. Slyvester Muyiwa Adu.
Ondo South Senatorial District
1. Princess Carthrina
2. Akinfolarin Mayo Samuel;
3.. Barr. Morayo Lebi;
4. Akinboye Taiwo;
5. Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele;
6. Hon. Dr D.I. Kekemeke;
7. H.E. Ajayi Alfred Agboola; and
8. Abdul Mohammed Adetunyi.
All the aspirants were returned with “cleared” status at the end of the screening process conducted by the party.
