The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Osun State has debunked the claim by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Ademola Adeleke attacked President Bola Tinubu at the South West Summit held in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

It described the allegwd malicious report as a figment of the imagination of an ingrate, Mr. Kola Olabisi.

PDP, in a statement by its Media Directorate, condemned the APC spokesperson for peddling lies against Adeleke despite his long-standing association and past benefits from the Adeleke family.

It clarified that at no time did the governor or his representative attack President Tinubu during the Akure summit.

The party described as shameful the opposition’s attempt to twist a factual and transparent presentation about Osun State’s experiences, particularly regarding local government elections and fiscal management.

According to the statement, “Throughout the Governor’s speech in Akure, there was no attack on Mr. President,

“Rather, it was an honest presentation of Osun State’s experiences within the framework of intergovernmental relations.

“The summit was an assembly of Yoruba leaders focused on the theme of relations between the center and subnational governments.”

It explained that the presentation detailed the efforts of the Osun State Government to strengthen ties with the Federal Government, highlighting areas of positive cooperation as well as challenges posed by some APC politicians who have openly vowed to manipulate the 2026 elections.

“The Governor’s remarks emphasized the need for adherence to the Constitution and fair treatment of Osun State, regardless of political affiliations.

“It is reprehensible for the APC’s spokesperson to manufacture falsehoods against Governor Adeleke and the Adeleke family — his former benefactors — all in the name of politics,” the statement added.

PDP reaffirmed that Adeleke has consistently demonstrated respect for President Tinubu.

Discussing governance issues affecting Osun State at a regional summit of Yoruba leaders, the party maintained, cannot be misconstrued as an attack on the President.

“We urge the public to disregard the fake news being circulated by an ingrate.

“Governor Adeleke has never disparaged President Tinubu — not only out of respect for governmental protocol but also due to a deep-seated cultural and personal regard shared between two Yoruba sons,” the statement said.
