Ondo and Ekiti State Governments are collaborating on business lntegration to ensure rapid and sustainable development.
The 0ndo State commissioner for Regional lntegration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Boye 0logbese and his counterpart from Ekiti state, Dr. Makanjuola Kareem made this known during a stakeholders’ meeting
held in akure
A statement by the ministy’s spokesman, Bisi Agboola said Ologbese lnformed that as the seaport is coming on board in the state,it is also important for Ekiti Dtate to have a dry seaport.
He ssid that it is a good thing that Ekiti State is also planning to have cargo airport taking off in August to serve as another business advantage.
0logbese who commended the 0ndo state Governor Lucky 0rimisan Ayedatiwa opinioned that promotion of Tourism ln the region through the smart city tagged Green Economy Initiative Project, will open the region into the world.
The commissioner said there is the need to step up to have common data within the South west region especially now that Amotekun is fully working.
He said they are to issue identity cards to farm users and operators before accessing farm areas in order to separate criminals from genuine farmers.
0logbese also stressed the need to have a security trust fund in the region to strengthen security believing that it will drive a lot of investment if the region is secured.
He added that they are to use security to guard the border markets,stressing that with the high cost of food commodities, the two states will work on border markets.
Also Speaking,the Ekiti state commissioner for Regional Development and Inter-governmental Affairs, Dr.Makanjuola Kareem noted that the collaborative discussion is on how to move Ekiti and 0ndo States forward.
He appreciated Governors of the two states for trying to checkmate the menace of the criminals adding that through collaboration, lnsecurity would be tackled headlong.
The commissioner said that Ekiti and 0ndo States have many things ln common,noting that many of the citizens contribute to the economy of both states and the region.
He posited that it will be very nice if roads are motorable so that goods can be easily moved from the seaport to the dry port, adding that if both the sea and cargo ports would work together,it will be a great benefit to the region and the country in general.
Makanjuola believed that the collaboration will promote peace and development thereby making life better for the citizens.
Thw Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti So, Pince Tunji 0gunlola and the Admnistrative Secretary, 0ndo State Ministry of Regional lntegration and Diasporal Relations, Mr.Kunle Ajibade noted that the use of Amotekun has hitherto paved way for peace restoration ln Ondo and Ekiti states.
The Director General,Ekiti Dtate Diaspora Focal Point 0fficer, Dr.Adeola Adeleye-Fasuba appreciated Governors of the two states for the opportunity to chart the way forward
