Senator Tayo Alasoadura, who represents Ondo Central Senatorial District in the Senate, has kicked off his reelection campaign with a charge by the state government on members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to begin a door to door campaign statewide to ensure the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

While openly endorsing his candidature, the state government scored Alasoadura high in his performance since 2015, declaring that he had sponsored numerous bills and motions which impact positively on the lives of the people of the state and the country at large. Besides, it testified that the senator had been empowering his constituents with his position, wealth and influence.

The Deputy Governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi, spoke on behalf of the state government, noting that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, is committed to ensuring that President Buhari and Senator Alasoadura with other APC candidates record a resounding victory during the coming general elections.

He therefore charged party members to begin a door to door campaign for the re-election of Alasoadura, President Buhari and other candidates of the party.

Ajayi told the party’s supporters at the rally that among those contesting the seat, Alasoadura remains the most credible, who would use his re-election to attract more developmental projects to his constituency.

He said that Akeredolu is also committed to the reelection of Alasoadura, as he listed some of the achievements recorded so far by the administration.

According to him: “Despite the paucity of funds, we have not relented in our efforts at transforming the state

We are currently dualising  Oba Osupa road. We are also dualising CBN – Alagbaka road. Work is ongoing at Gaga road, SIB-Alagbaka, and Ijoka to Idanre roads among others.

It is not only in Akure that the Governor is working. Work is also ongoing in Owo, Ikare, Ese-Odo, Idanre, Ore and other councils”,

In his own address,  Adetimehin dismissed insinuation that the state executives of the party and  Akeredolu were working against the interest of APC in favour of some candidates of Action Alliance, AA, in the state.

He urged the crowd to vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections in view of outstanding performances of President Buhari, Akeredolu and Alasoadura.

While addressing the rally, Alasoadura said that he had facilitated many empowerment programmes for his constituents in Idanre, Ifedore, Ondo west, Akure North, Ondo east and Akure south local government areas in the last three and half years.

The senator disclosed that he had sponsored many bills and motions including the famous Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) and the Enabling Act for the Establishment of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.

Highlight of the campaign flag-off was the official presentation of APC flag to Alasoadura to lead the party to victory in the district in the coming elections.

Alasoadura was also openly endorsed by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo in Ondo city and Ileoluji.
