A woman sustained a fractured leg and another suffered minor injuries during the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna on Saturday, prompting emergency responders to provide medical assistance at the venue.

The National Emergency Management Agency disclosed that the two women were injured amid the crowd at Kaduna Township Stadium, also known as Ranchers Bees Stadium, where the campaign event was held.

According to the agency, its Emergency Response Team administered first aid to the woman with the fractured leg before evacuating her to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital for further treatment.

The second woman, who sustained a minor injury, received treatment at the stadium and reportedly remained at the event.

NEMA’s response team was led by the Head of Operations, Halima Sulaiman, with support from the Federal Road Safety Corps and other emergency response stakeholders deployed to the venue.

The agencies were stationed at the stadium to ensure emergency preparedness and provide prompt medical assistance during the gathering.

The incident highlighted the need for effective crowd management and emergency response arrangements at major political events, where large gatherings can pose safety risks to participants.
