As primary and secondary schools prepare to resume for a new academic session, the Ondo State Government has warned school principals and headmasters against alleged illegal fees collections from their students and pupils.
Meanwhile, during a chat with the stakeholders in the education sector in the state, the commissioner outlined plans to enforce discipline among pupils and students, and ensure compliance with its academic standards by all the school authorities.
He said the government would monitor teaching activities in the over 6,000 private and public schools across the state with effect from the incoming academic session.
He stressed the need to intensify inspectorate activities with a view to ensuring discipline among teachers and their pupils for seamless resumption
Besides, he noted that a monitoring team would be in the forefront to activate proper teaching and learning conditions for continual quality education in Ondo state.
According to him, the monitoring team would include the Zonal education officer while people with experience and integrity within the locality would also serve as neighborhood inspectors
Moreover, he announced the set-up of a taskforce that would arrest any student found roaming about while teachers and parents of such erring students would have questions to answer
