Learn to work under others – 3

Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*Conclusion of the Daily Reflections on working under the shadow of others.*

*7) Be conscious to pay attention to whoever holds the reins of control over your master. Everyone of us, without an exception, has someone “holding” the reins of control over our lives.*

*While you may not need to cringe before them, wisdom beholds you to be careful around them so that you don’t overstep your boundaries with such individuals.*

*Do you realize that even Jesus Christ had someone who had the _”hold” over him!_. Yes, He sure did. Just imagine one of the 12 disciples of Jesus being rude to Mary, the mother of Jesus? I think that would have been the end of his discipleship under Jesus Christ. When in actual fact, whatever the mother asked the son, that he did, even when the son said “my time has not yet come :*

*John 2:[3] And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.*
*[4]Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.*

*Yet, the mother said, “whatever he tells you to do, do it :*

*John 2: [5] His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.*

*Including in the case above: the simplistic action of fetching water into pots that later became wine!*

*There are just some people around your master that you can’t afford to treat anyhow. If you do, you may not have a good story to tell thereafter .*

*8) Be conscious of the dynamics of times and seasons around your leader.*

*The truth of life is, time changes, season alters. If you are not conscious of this around your leader, you may lose out.*

*Some women will tell you they don’t take some requests to their husbands when he is ‘broke and pensive,” while they can get up to half of the kingdom by merely asking when he is buoyant and upbeat. This may not be the situation with all leaders, but you can take a cue from this statement of reality please .*

*9) Finally, don’t allow anybody, no matter the situation, to push you against your master, especially political jobbers or career sympathizers or relationship apologists or even benefit ‘cringers’.*

*These people are always around you and your leader, observing developments, and are good at making insinuations that are highly instigating.*

*If you allow them to push you or you listen to them to give you wrong advice, you can be sure they will only end up pushing you overboard.*

*May I also shock you by telling you this : a good number of them are hypocrites, who will also go behind you to poison the mind of your master against you based on remarks they will claim you made.*

*Always remember this, when you get to tipping points in your relationship with your master, learn to call upon God to help you. And sure, He will.*

*This was the case with David when it got to the critical point of his master, whom he was aide de camp to (something like the modern day PA – Personal Assistant) came after him :*

*1 Samuel 26:[24] And, behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of the LORD, and let him deliver me out of all tribulation.*
*[25]Then Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt both do great things, and also shalt still prevail. So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.*

*By every means in your journey of life, you must learn and understand how to work under the shadow of others, especially your masters, failure which could result in serious consequences for you or your interest.*

Top of the day to you 👍
