APC House of Representatives aspirant for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Engnr Richard Olomofe
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will sweep Ondo State during the forthcoming 2027 presidential election, according to a leading House of Representatives aspirant on the banner of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Engnr Richard Olomofe,
He described Tnubu’s chances of victory in the election in Ondo State as “overwhelmingly strong, with projections suggesting what some party stakeholders call a “near walkover” outcome in the state.”
Olomofe made this assertion during a grassroots mobilisation rally held in Idoani on Wednesday.
He said that the APC structure in Ondo State remains firmly aligned behind Tinubu, adding that the president is positioned to secure what he described as an “absolute dominance of up to 99.9 percent electoral support” in the state, should current political dynamics remain unchanged.
According to him, the President’s economic decisions- particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange system- though difficult, reflect “bold and necessary reforms” aimed at long-term national stability.
His words, “President Tinubu did not act for short-term popularity but for the long-term survival and stability of Nigeria’s economy.
“These decisions were tough but courageous, and history will judge them differently from immediate political sentiments.”
The APC aspirant further commended the ongoing grassroots mobilisation efforts in support of the President, noting that such engagements are critical in reinforcing public understanding of federal reforms.
As part of the event, Olomofe also distributed palliative support items to residents, aimed at cushioning the economic pressures attributed to recent fuel price adjustments, which he linked in part to global energy disruptions, including tensions in the Iran-Israel region affecting oil markets.
He urged citizens to remain patient and supportive, expressing optimism that ongoing infrastructural projects and economic reforms initiated by the Tinubu administration would soon yield tangible benefits across communities.
“The impact of current reforms may be challenging now, but the long-term gains will be evident in improved infrastructure, economic stability, and expanded opportunities for Nigerians,” he added.
Olomofe also called on Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to ensure that the state delivers strongly for President Tinubu in 2027. He emphasised the importance of internal party consensus and the selection of candidates with progressive ideology and proven competence ahead of future elections.
Responding to questions about his ambition and possible support for other aspirants in the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency race, Olomofe maintained that while he remains committed to party unity and democratic principles, he is confident of emerging victorious in the APC primary.
He argued that the Irekari LCDA, which he represents politically, deserves greater inclusion in federal representation, noting that the area has long been without representation in the House of Representatives seat for the constituency.
“I believe in democracy and I will support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate,” he said. “However, I am confident of victory because I represent a zone that has not been given federal representation for a long time, and I bring the right blend of grassroots support, experience, and exposure needed for the role.”
The rally concluded with renewed calls for unity within the APC and sustained mobilisation efforts across communities in support of both President Tinubu’s administration and the party’s broader electoral objectives ahead of 2027.
