The Police have confirmed the abduction of six worshipers by gunmen at a celestial church in Uso community, Owo Local Government Area of the State.
A statement by the state police command’s spokesman, Abayomi Jimoh, a DSP, said that the six worshipers were kidnapped at a Celestial Church located along the Uso/Owo Expressway in Uso.
It confirmed that the incident occured on Monday night while the church was having a programme.
One of the victims has been rescued through a joint efforts of the Police and the Army, it said.
The statement disclosed that one person linked with the abduction had been arrested while security operations are ongoing to rescue the victims.
The police urged residents to remain calm and vigilant while efforts were on to rescue the remaining five victims.
