In furtherance of its unwavering commitment to global recognition as a world-class institution, Elizade University has once again demonstrated leadership in academic excellence by organising an in-house capacity-building session for its faculty members.
The training, which brought together academics across disciplines, was designed to sharpen professional skills and strengthen the University’s core mandate of quality teaching and impactful research.
The initiative comes as the University commences the First Semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, underscoring Management’s resolve to begin the session on a strong intellectual and strategic footing.
Coordinating the programme, the University Librarian, Ayooluwa Aregbesola, emphasised that learning, relearning, and unlearning have become indispensable tools for 21st-century knowledge acquisition.
He noted that continuous capacity development remains critical for academics to remain relevant in a fast-changing global knowledge ecosystem.
In a message to participants, the Vice-Chancellor, Philip Oguntunde, charged faculty members to stay ahead through constant training, particularly in the face of rapid technological advancement, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the expanding information superhighway.
He stressed that research visibility and global rankings are no longer optional but central to academic relevance and institutional prestige in today’s competitive higher education landscape.
One of the facilitators, Akinsanya Adebayo, took participants through critical issues surrounding research visibility, access, and strategic positioning.
He urged faculty members to be forward-looking and deliberate in projecting their research outputs within the global academic domain.
The capacity-building session reflects Elizade University’s proactive approach to nurturing a dynamic, globally competitive academic workforce, as it continues to aim higher in its pursuit of excellence, innovation, and international relevance.
