Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, on Monday, flagged off the dualisation of Ila Township Road as part of his administration’s sweeping infrastructure agenda.
This landmark collaboration he said reaffirms his commitment to delivering impactful projects across the state.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Ila-Orangun, Adeleke said the first phase of the project will cover a 3.5-kilometer stretch and will be delivered within ten months.
He described the event as another demonstration of his administration’s resolve to open up the state through massive road infrastructure, despite what he termed “lingering uncertainties in the nation.”
“I have vowed before God and the good people of Osun State that I will never be distracted from my promise to serve. Today’s flag-off is another fulfillment of that vow,” the governor said.
Adeleke outlined the achievements of his administration in the road sector, disclosing that over 175 kilometers of roads have been reconstructed, rehabilitated, or renovated since he assumed office. He also gave updates on ongoing major projects:
- Ilesa dualisation: 78% completed
- Ile-Ife flyover: 75% completed;
- ,Oke-Fia flyover: over 95% completed;
- LAMECO flyover: 55% completed; Oke Gada bridge: fully completed; and
- 1.5-kilometer roads in each LGA: nearing completion.
In Ila specifically, he highlighted the completion of key roads including the 2-kilometer Oba Jinsin/Ita Obajoko Road, Ogunlade Junction–Kamila Junction Road, and Ajagunla Street, as well as the 1.8-kilometer Aregun Junction–Ogunlolu Road.
The governor further announced the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ila–Ora–Oke Ila Road, which has reached the Oke Ila junction. He assured traditional rulers and residents of the affected communities, including the Orangun of Oke-Ila, the Akesin of Ora, and the Asaoni of Ora, that construction would resume shortly.
Governor Adeleke reiterated that no project initiated by his administration would be abandoned, emphasizing that “we are determined, and we are pushing ahead with the mega projects.”
The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, party leaders, and members of the public who applauded the governor’s infrastructure push.
