Ondo State Ministry of Health will distribute about 1,000 sanitary pads to secondary school students in some selected secondary schools in the state tomorrow in commemoration of the 2025 World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
The programme tagged “together for a period friendly world” is supported by Ondo State Contributory Health Commission,Rotary Club of Akure-Metro,D9126, Broader accessible-Health Initiatives, National Association of Nigeria Nurses & Midwives(NANNM),Association of Public Health Phyicians, Lions,Akure Millennium Specialty Club, Girls2Women,WiseVirgins,GirlsOn, Kids & Teens Resource Centre and MSI Nigeria
In a statement by Bisi Lawani, the ministry said the venue of the event is the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives at Igbatoro Road Akure.
According to the Director Family Health. Dr Isaac Aladeniyi, the programme will afford the young girls the opportunity to know how best to care for themselves during their menstrual period and where to get help when needed.
