A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Boluwaduro, Ifedayo and Ila Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

Oluwatosin, popularly known as AIO, said his ambition is driven by a desire to provide inclusive leadership and quality representation for the people of the constituency.

The Ila-born young entrepreneur made the declaration during a Ramadan lecture and humanitarian outreach he organised for residents across the constituency, where over 500 food packages were distributed to Muslim faithful and other families observing the fasting period.

Addressing party leaders, stakeholders and community members at the event, Oluwatosin said his aspiration to represent the constituency at the National Assembly is rooted in service rather than political rivalry.

“I wish to lead my people by contesting for the House of Representatives in 2027. I am not an enemy to anyone; I am a friend to all,” he said.
He stressed that leadership should focus on uniting people, strengthening grassroots participation and creating opportunities that will improve the welfare of citizens.

The programme attracted several political leaders and stakeholders from across the federal constituency.

Among those present were the Executive Chairman of Ila Local Government, Hon. Adeyemi Adebara; the Chairman of Ila Local Council Development Area, Hon. Abdullah Olanrewaju; and the APC Chairman in Ila Local Government, Hon. Joseph Adedokun.

Also in attendance were the former Executive Chairman of Ila Local Government, Otunba Segun Awotunde, the Vice Chairman of Ila Local Government, Hon. Tunde Ajani, alongside other local government executives, political aides and party leaders.

Ward councillors, ward chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders, members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), tricycle operators and supporters from different parts of the constituency also attended the programme.

Delivering the Ramadan lecture, the Mufasir of Ila Local Government, Alhaji Sheikh Uthman Isiak, urged leaders to embrace justice, fairness and generosity in public service.

The cleric emphasised that true leadership must prioritise the welfare of the people, adding that compassion, integrity and accountability are essential values for anyone entrusted with leadership.

Many residents who attended the event commended Oluwatosin for the initiative, describing the distribution of food packages as timely support for families observing the Ramadan fasting period.

The event ended with prayers for peace, unity and sustained development across the Boluwaduro, Ifedayo and Ila Federal Constituency.
