The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has dismissed allegations by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) as baseless and misleading, describing the party’s claims as the outburst of a disorganised opposition struggling with internal crises.

In a statement by its Director of Media, Hon. Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji, the PDP said the APC’s accusations were a desperate attempt to cover up the growing division within its ranks.

“It is laughable that a party neck-deep in leadership battles and endless factional disputes is accusing the PDP of fabrications. The truth is that the Osun APC is at war with itself, and its frustrated leaders are merely seeking scapegoats to mask their disunity. Their problem is not the PDP — their problem is themselves,” the statement read.

Bamiji said Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration remains focused on delivering good governance rather than engaging in political distractions.

“Governor Adeleke is busy working for the people — roads are being constructed, health centres revitalised, schools rehabilitated, and workers paid as and when due. While the APC is busy trading blames, the PDP government is busy changing lives. That’s the difference,” he stated.

The PDP maintained that its administration has earned unprecedented goodwill across the state by restoring credibility, accountability, and public confidence in governance.

“From teachers to traders, from pensioners to students, everyone can feel the difference. The people are happy, the economy is reviving, and the public service now enjoys dignity. That’s why Osun people stand solidly with the PDP,” the party added.

It further advised journalists and the public to verify any information coming from the APC before believing or publishing it, alleging that the opposition had resorted to misinformation to divert attention from its internal problems.

“We will not be dragged into their confusion. Our focus remains peace, good governance, and the unity of Osun State,” the statement concluded

In a swift reaction, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) cautioned journalists, party members, and the public to be wary of what it called fabricated stories from the ruling PDP, allegedly aimed at causing disunity within the APC.

The party, in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, accused the PDP and Governor Adeleke’s administration of sponsoring falsehoods as part of preparations for the 2026 governorship election.

“Our findings have revealed that the PDP has evolved a new way of generating and publishing falsehoods about the APC. It is important for journalists to probe deeply into the sources of their stories to avoid being turned into tools for the PDP’s hatchet writers,” the statement read.

Olabisi alleged that the ruling party had resorted to using fake names and groups to circulate “satanic stories” designed to destabilise the opposition.

“The PDP has reached a dead end and now seeks to disturb the peace of the state. But we congratulate our members and supporters — their antics only show the jitters of Governor Adeleke and his co-travellers, whose defeat at the next polls is inevitable,” he said.

The APC also warned the public to disregard any “manufactured stories” purportedly emanating from the opposition and vowed to intensify efforts to reclaim power in the next election.

“We shall not rest on our oars to ensure the collective project of ejecting Governor Adeleke from the Bola Ige House is achieved in the overall interest of Osun’s development,” the statement concluded.
