The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has begun arrangements to establish a campaign committee for the 2027 National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections, as the party intensifies preparations for the polls.
The state APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, October 15, 2026, saying the proposed committee would strengthen the party’s mobilisation efforts and improve its performance in the legislative elections.
Lawal said the decision followed the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Committee on Wednesday, October 14.
He explained that the proposed legislative campaign structure would operate independently of the presidential committee, which he described as a coalition involving different political parties working towards the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, establishing a separate campaign structure in Osun would complement the activities of the presidential campaign committee and help the party secure representation in both chambers of the National Assembly and the Osun State House of Assembly.
Lawal added that the names of members appointed to the National and State Assembly Campaign Committee would be made public in the coming days.
The APC chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to good governance and effective representation, assuring members and residents that the party would prioritise the quality of candidates contesting legislative seats.
He also clarified that the arrangement involving the Accord Party was restricted to the presidential election, maintaining that the APC would pursue its own candidates for legislative positions.
Lawal urged Osun residents to support the party in the forthcoming elections, calling on voters to elect its three senatorial candidates, nine House of Representatives candidates and 26 candidates seeking seats in the state assembly.
He expressed optimism that the proposed committee would strengthen the party’s organisational capacity, improve grassroots mobilisation and advance its electoral objectives across the state.
