Party vows to mobilise for Tinubu, retains support for APC legislative candidates

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness to collaborate with Governor Ademola Adeleke to secure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.

The party, however, urged Adeleke to ensure genuine inclusivity by involving APC leaders and members in the state in the proposed collaboration.

The Osun APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, October 30, following a meeting of the party’s State Working Committee recently

Lawal said the party had mapped out activities and strategies to mobilise voters across the state towards Tinubu’s re-election, adding that its structures at various administrative levels were already working towards achieving the objective.

According to him, the party resolved at the meeting to work with Adeleke in returning Tinubu to office, while appreciating the governor’s commitment to supporting the President’s re-election bid.

The APC chairman, however, urged the governor to take necessary steps to accommodate all relevant stakeholders, particularly APC leaders and members in Osun, to ensure the success of the collaboration.

He stressed that the party remained committed to working vigorously for Tinubu’s re-election on the platform of the APC.

Despite its willingness to collaborate with Adeleke on the presidential election, Lawal said the party would continue to mobilise support for its candidates contesting the National Assembly and Osun State House of Assembly elections.

He disclosed that the State Working Committee also resolved to establish a campaign council to coordinate campaigns for the party’s legislative candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The statement added that APC structures at all levels would be deployed to drive campaign activities and mobilise the electorate for the party’s candidates.

Lawal also commended party leaders in Osun for their efforts to resolve the internal crisis within the party, describing their interventions as important to the overall interest and progress of the APC.

The development signals a willingness by the Osun APC leadership to cooperate with Adeleke on Tinubu’s presidential re-election bid, while maintaining its separate political mobilisation for the party’s legislative candidates.
