The Governing Council of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa (OSCO-HEALTH), has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Tit also commended Adeleke for what it described as his sustained support for the institution, noting that his administration had demonstrated commitment to the growth and development of the college since assuming office.
The commendation was contained in a communique issued after the Council’s quarterly meeting, presided over by its Chairman, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke.
At the meeting, the Council resolved to intensify efforts towards making the college a residential institution through the construction of a students’ hostel under a Public-Private Partnership arrangement.
According to the Council, the provision of adequate hostel accommodation is important to the institution’s efforts to meet accreditation requirements and further improve its academic and welfare facilities.
The meeting, which was attended by the Provost of the College, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, also approved the appointment of Dr. Rasheed Kolawole as Deputy Provost, Academics, and Mrs. Abimbola Moradeke Asiyanbola as Deputy Provost, Administration.
The two appointments are for a two-year tenure.
In another move aimed at strengthening the institution’s financial base, the Council constituted a Venture Committee to immediately develop strategies for improving the College’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The committee is expected to identify viable ventures and other opportunities capable of increasing the institution’s internally generated resources.
The Council also considered and approved the enrolment of members of the College’s ad-hoc staff into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), in a move aimed at improving access to healthcare for the affected workers.
Meanwhile, the Governing Council expressed appreciation to the host community for its continued support for the College and its contribution towards the institution’s growth and development.
The Council said the cooperation and support of the community had remained important to the continued progress of the institution.
The quarterly meeting was attended by Permanent Secretaries representing the Osun State Ministries of Education, Finance and Justice, as well as officials from the Bureau of Human Resources and the Bureau of Parastatals Monitoring Office.
Others in attendance included the College Provost, Registrar/Secretary to the Council, a representative of the College Alumni Association and other members of the Governing Council.
The Council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the College’s academic, infrastructural and administrative capacity in line with its mandate of producing qualified health technology professionals for the state and beyond.
