Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has congratulated an indigene of Osun State, Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, on his appointment as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The royal father, who is the Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigerian Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Natural Head of the Oduduwa race worldwide and Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN), described Enitan’s appointment as a significant recognition of his years of dedicated service to Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Thursday evening by the Senior Media Officer, Ooni’s Palace, Sodiq Lawal, on behalf of the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, the monarch said Enitan’s elevation to one of the country’s most important administrative positions was a source of pride to Osun State and the Yoruba race.
The Ooni commended Enitan’s career in the Federal Civil Service, particularly his experience serving as a Permanent Secretary in different strategic ministries.
He described the new Head of Service’s professional trajectory as evidence of dedication, competence and commitment to public service.
According to the monarch, Enitan assumed the new responsibility at a critical period when the Federal Civil Service requires continuous innovation, efficiency and institutional reforms to meet the demands of modern governance.
Ooni Ogunwusi expressed confidence that Enitan’s wealth of experience would enable him to contribute meaningfully to strengthening the civil service and improving the quality of services delivered to Nigerians.
The monarch said: “His emergence is a testament to his years of dedication and professional service to Nigeria. It is also a moment of pride for Osun State to see one of its illustrious sons entrusted with such a sensitive national responsibility.
“I urge him to prioritise efficiency, professionalism and meaningful reforms that will strengthen the Federal Civil Service and make government institutions more responsive to the needs of Nigerians.”
Ooni Ogunwusi further charged Enitan to use his new position to promote a culture of excellence, accountability and innovation across the Federal Civil Service.
He stressed that a competent, professional and responsive public service remained critical to the effective implementation of government policies and the overall development of Nigeria.
The monarch expressed confidence that Enitan would bring his administrative experience and professional expertise to bear on the new assignment and contribute positively to ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of government institutions.
He wished the new Head of Service a successful tenure, while praying for wisdom, good health and divine guidance as he assumes the national responsibility.
