The Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has felicitated the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as a woman whose life has been dedicated to service, compassion and the advancement of humanity.
This was contained in a congratulatory message issued on Monday by the Senior Media Officer of the Ooni’s Palace, Sodiq Lawal, on behalf of the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare.
Ooni Ogunwusi joined members of the First Lady’s family, associates and Nigerians across the country in celebrating her attainment of 66 years, while commending her contributions to public service and humanitarian causes.
He particularly acknowledged Senator Tinubu’s commitment to issues affecting women, children, families and vulnerable members of society.
According to the monarch, the birthday offers an opportunity to reflect on the First Lady’s years of service and the impact of her activities across different spheres of national life.
The Ooni also noted that Senator Tinubu’s involvement in humanitarian initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians had earned her recognition within and outside the country.
Ooni Ogunwusi recalled that the First Lady was conferred with the traditional chieftaincy title, Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua, at the Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife during activities marking his 10th coronation anniversary in December 2025.
He said the title was a recognition of her contributions to society as well as her connection with the cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
The monarch described Senator Tinubu’s 66th birthday as a moment of thanksgiving and reflection, praying for greater wisdom, strength, peace and fulfilment in the new chapter of her life.
He further prayed for divine guidance for the First Lady in the discharge of her responsibilities, particularly her support for initiatives focused on women, children and families.
Ooni Ogunwusi said, “I warmly felicitate with our mother, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua, on the occasion of her 66th birthday.
“This is not only a celebration of age, but also a celebration of a life devoted to service, compassion and humanity. Over the years, you have demonstrated commitment to the welfare of our people, particularly women, children and families.
“As Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua, you occupy a position of great honour within the Oodua race, and we are proud to celebrate you on this special occasion.
“At 66, I pray that Almighty Olodumare will continue to strengthen you, increase you in wisdom and grant you sound health, peace and greater opportunities to continue serving humanity.
“May the years ahead bring you greater fulfilment, and may your efforts for the advancement of our people and our dear nation continue to yield positive results.
