The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has celebrated former Governor of Osun State and former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on the occasion of his 69th birthday anniversary, describing him as a leader whose contributions to Osun State and Nigeria remain significant.
In a congratulatory message on Monday by the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the Ooni who is also the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) praised Aregbesola for his commitment to public service, grassroots development and nation-building throughout his years in office.
Ooni Ogunwusi noted that the former governor played a vital role in the development of Osun State through various infrastructural projects, social intervention programmes and reforms aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
He also commended Aregbesola for his service as Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, saying his dedication and passion for national growth earned him admiration across the country.
According to the Ooni, Aregbesola’s leadership style, courage and progressive ideals have continued to inspire many people within and outside the political space.
“Kabiyesi rejoices with Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on his 69th birthday and appreciates his immense contributions to the growth and development of Osun State and Nigeria at large. His commitment to humanity and good governance remains commendable,” the statement read.
The Ooni prayed for good health, greater wisdom and long life for the former governor, while wishing him many more years of impactful service to humanity.
